About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Family Practitioner to join our team in Toowoomba. As a key member of our child protection team, you will provide critical support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring the highest standards of care for children and young people in our care.

Your primary focus will be on developing and implementing individualized care plans, working closely with government agencies, foster carers, and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible outcomes for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough child-focused casework, including case planning and assessment, in partnership with relevant government agencies and stakeholders.
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to foster carers, ensuring they have the necessary tools and resources to provide high-quality care.
  • Develop and implement strategies to support foster carers in their role, including providing guidance on case planning and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Supervise and support direct reports, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Ensure all necessary documentation and information is maintained, including risk assessments, cultural support plans, and behavioral support plans.
Requirements
  • A recognized degree qualification in Social Work or Psychology or a related field.
  • Significant experience in the child protection and out-of-home care sector.
  • Demonstrated experience working with individuals, families, and communities from a strength-based, culturally appropriate perspective.
  • Current driver's license.
