Job Title: Senior Clinical Social Services Manager

We are seeking an experienced and visionary professional to lead our social work department as Deputy Head of Department. This role combines clinical expertise with strategic oversight, supporting both social workers and Aboriginal Liaison Officers.

The ideal candidate will provide expert guidance on clinical and administrative matters, set professional standards, contribute to workforce planning, and implement safety and quality processes that enhance service delivery across the district. They will maintain a clinical caseload reflecting their experience and commitment to direct care, and assume the role of Acting Head of Department during periods of absence or leave.

Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Social Work and eligibility for the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
  • Demonstrated extensive clinical and management experience as a social worker, including a demonstrated understanding of social work service provision in complex health settings
  • Excellent skills and experience in leadership and management, including financial, risk, staff supervision, and workforce management
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including advocacy and negotiation, with the ability to build effective partnerships across internal and external stakeholders
