Job Title: Specialist Healthcare Professional

The role requires a highly skilled and experienced specialist healthcare professional to join our team in the emergency department.

The position will involve extending the provision of specialist AOD coverage in ED & DoAM Consultation and Liaison clients located throughout the hospital.

Key objectives include improving linkages across SVHM departments involved in providing services to clients with AOD issues, implementing the AOD screening tool in ED, and facilitating referrals to appropriate community-based services.

The specialist healthcare professional will provide AOD education and training within the emergency department and coordinate access to and follow-up for clients who are being considered for or receiving care under Severe Substance Dependent Treatment Act (SSDTA).

Classifications for this position will range from NO1 - NO2.

Requirements
  • A qualification in Nurse Practitioner – APHRA endorsed and registration which meets the registration requirements of the Nurses Board of Victoria in Division 1 or 3 is essential.
  • A minimum of 5 years clinical experience – preferably in the AOD or related sector.
  • Experience in Addiction Medicine and/or related fields is desirable.
  • Working knowledge of the SSDTA and the Victorian AOD service sector.
