Financial Operations Director

Job Description:

As a key member of our leadership team, the Financial Operations Director will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our financial systems. This role will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer to support confident decision-making, strong compliance, and scalable growth.

  • Oversee the management of day-to-day finance operations, including payables, receivables, and payroll.
  • Ensure full compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and manage cash flow forecasting and financial stability strategies.
  • Deliver timely and accurate reporting, insights, and recommendations to leadership.
  • Prepare and oversee budgets and forecasts.
  • Optimise systems, processes, and automations for efficiency.
  • Mentor and coach team members to guide development, provide clarity, and hold accountability.
  • Liaise with external stakeholders as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting; CA/CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in finance roles within SMEs, scale-ups or business services.
  • Experience managing small finance teams.
  • Strong technical expertise in payroll, compliance, tax, and reporting.
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills and financial modelling capability.
  • Clear and approachable communicator, with the ability to influence across the business.
  • Commercially aware, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset.
