Job Overview:

The QLD Design Manager is responsible for overseeing the integration of design and cost planning functions throughout preconstruction and delivery phases of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the integration of design during the preconstruction process, including early client engagement, ensuring project design intent is maintained without compromising budget or compliance.
  • Manage key project stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and subcontractors, to facilitate successful project outcomes.
  • Interpret and execute head contracts, mitigating contractual risk and ensuring project deliverables are met.
  • Understand and execute client design needs to ensure their vision is realized, aligning with company growth objectives.
  • Participate in senior management strategic decision-making to drive business growth within the commercial sector.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualification in Interior Design, Architecture, Construction Management, or similar field.
  • Extensive experience managing design processes for commercial D&C projects valued up to $3 million, including cost planning and value engineering.
  • Strong network of existing clients across the QLD/Brisbane commercial property industry, fostering long-term relationships.
