Mental Health Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated professional to provide mental health support services for young people aged 12–25.

This role offers the opportunity to form strong relationships with clients, helping them navigate challenges including early mental health issues, substance use, physical health, education, and social concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychosocial assessments using evidence-based tools such as HEADSS, K10, PHQ9, GAD7, SOFAS AND SCOFF.
  • Develop and deliver individualised care plans that reflect each client’s goals, strengths, and needs.
  • Provide evidence-based psychological support, monitor outcomes, and implement appropriate risk management plans.
  • Engage in single session support, group facilitation, and family-inclusive practice.
  • Work in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and inclusive way that supports both the individual and their family.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, or a related allied health field.
  • Registration with a relevant professional body (or willingness to be provisionally employed while working toward registration).
  • Experience delivering individual and/or group therapeutic interventions.
  • A strong understanding of youth mental health challenges and evidence-based treatment approaches.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect authentically with young people from all walks of life.
  • The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team.
