We are excited to announce an exceptional opportunity for a Mental Health Worker to join Centacare NENW in Armidale. Job DescriptionYour Role as a Mental Health WorkerMake a real difference in the lives of young people while working with a passionate and supportive team that's with you every step of the way.
As a valued member of our mental health team, you'll have the opportunity to form strong professional relationships with young people aged 12–25, helping them navigate a wide range of challenges including early mental health issues, substance use, physical health, education, and social concerns.
In this role, you'll:
Conduct psychosocial assessments using tools such as HEADSS, K10, PHQ9, GAD7,SOFAS AND SCOFF.
Develop and deliver individualised care plans that reflect each young person\'s goals, strengths, and needs
Provide evidence-based psychological support, monitor outcomes, and implement appropriate risk management plans
Engage in single session support, group facilitation and family-inclusive practice
Work in a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive, and inclusive way that supports both the individual and their family

Desired Skills and ExperienceWhat You'll BringWe're looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people and bringing warmth, professionalism, and commitment to their work.
You'll ideally have:
A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, or a related allied health field
Registration with a relevant professional body (or willingness to be provisionally employed while working toward registration)
Experience delivering individual and/or group therapeutic interventions
A strong understanding of youth mental health challenges and evidence-based treatment approaches
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect authentically with young people from all walks of life
The ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a dynamic team
A commitment to ongoing professional development, growth, and reflective practice
