About the Role

The Q/EHS Manager is a crucial position at Yunex Traffic, responsible for ensuring safety, health, and environmental compliance within the organization. This role involves overseeing and managing the implementation of effective health and safety practices to prevent accidents, injuries, and environmental damage at Yunex locations and project sites.

We are seeking a highly skilled Q/EHS Manager to implement the Q or EHS aspects of Yunex Traffic's integrated management system and all country-specific laws, rules, and regulations. The successful candidate will provide technical capability to drive the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the integrated contract management system to meet legal, contractual, and other business requirements.

Main Responsibilities

  • The Q/EHS Manager ensures the implementation of the Q or EHS aspects of Yunex Traffic's integrated management system based on ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, where relevant certificates are required in the country.
  • Ensure compliance with all country-specific laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Report any Quality issues or EHS incidents.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Manage the implementation of Safety Management Plans across the business and projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and standards and that all activities on the project are undertaken safely, with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation.
  • Undertake or lead investigations in relation to safety or environmental-related incidents or issues and provide recommendations through the contract leadership team.
  • Develop and implement Q/EHS policies: The EHS Manager is responsible for creating and implementing comprehensive policies and procedures that comply with local, state, and national regulations.
  • Implement processes to ensure communication and compliance with all Q/EHS policies and procedures, including fostering a culture of 'safety and health above all else.'
  • Ensure risk assessments and risk registers are developed and maintained, and all records are managed in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Risk assessment and mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards, evaluate risks, and develop strategies to mitigate and control them.
  • Utilize data to enable informed decisions to be made in relation to asset disposal, renewal, and planned maintenance programs.
  • Incident investigation and reporting: Lead the investigation to determine the root causes and implement corrective measures for environmental incidents or safety accidents, injuries, or near-miss incidents.
  • Contractor management: Oversee contractor selection processes and evaluate their safety performance. Set expectations, provide guidance, and monitor contractors to ensure they comply with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Tertiary qualification in Workplace/Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental, or Quality Equivalent.
  • Experience in managing safety audit programs to ensure effective system compliance.
  • Detailed knowledge of EHS/Q legislation, regulatory requirements, and ISO standards within the roads and intelligent transportation industry.
  • Ability to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimize risk, and drive continuous improvement.
