WHSE Advisor Role at BGIS
At BGIS, we're seeking a dedicated WHSE Advisor to lead our Workplace Health, Safety, and Environmental (WHSE) management systems. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for ensuring compliance with statutory and contractual obligations, maintaining WHS system compliance with AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 standards, and overseeing environmental management system compliance with AS/NZS ISO 14001.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage WHSE processes and compliance with statutory and contractual obligations.
- Maintain WHS system compliance with AS/NZS 4801 and OHSAS 18001 standards.
- Ensure environmental management system compliance with AS/NZS ISO 14001.
- Oversee WHSE contractor management, hazard reporting, and incident management.
- Lead internal and external WHSE audits and provide expert guidance to contract-based compliance staff.
- Support contract transitions, provide WHSE training, and contribute to business growth (tenders, proposals).
- Contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting to both BGIS and clients.
Qualifications & Experience:
Essential:
- Strong experience in an OH&S Advisor or Coordinator role.
- Strong knowledge of AS/NZS 4801 (Occupational Health & Safety) and ISO 14001 (Environmental Management).
- Experience in construction, property management, or facility management industries.
- Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation, permit issuing, and OH&S audits.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and iAuditor.
- Able to quickly adapt and apply flexible/innovative approaches to WHSE challenges.
Desirable:
- ICAM Trained with experience in conducting investigations.
- Diploma in OH&S Management or similar qualification.
- OH&S auditor course and Permit Issuer Training.
