Event Officer Role

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires the ability to coordinate and deliver high-quality events. The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills, a strong understanding of community engagement principles, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

The Key Responsibilities
  • Event Planning and Coordination: Assist with the production of community events, including concept development, risk management, marketing, administration, and evaluation.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise short-term and contract staff as required, and contribute to the delivery of high-quality events.
  • Policymaking and Procedure Development: Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of event policies and procedures.
  • Communication and Reporting: Prepare professional reports, briefings, proposals, submissions, and contracts relating to events.
Key Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in event management, arts administration, business, tourism studies, or an equivalent field.
  • Possession of or willingness to obtain First Aid, Responsible Service of Alcohol, and Traffic Controller qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating community festivals and events.
  • Understanding of relevant legal and risk management requirements, and contract management experience.
  • Desktop publishing skills, including Microsoft Office suite, and the ability to prepare high-quality promotional materials and reports.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills, including presentation skills.
