Sustainability Initiatives Coordinator Job Summary

We are seeking a Sustainability Initiatives Coordinator to lead our sustainability initiatives and support engineering infrastructure across agricultural operations.

Job Description:

The role of the Sustainability Initiatives Coordinator is to advance organic certification standards and develop future carbon footprint reduction strategies. This involves geospatial analysis, environmental engineering, and project development to promote innovation and long-term ecological performance.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Conduct spatial analysis of soil profiles and microclimates using ArcGIS Pro.
  • Track environmental trends through geospatial monitoring systems.
  • Develop precision agriculture models to optimize irrigation and nutrient application, reducing synthetic inputs and supporting carbon sequestration initiatives.
Infrastructure & Energy Planning:
  • Model facility expansions using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Lead feasibility studies for solar, wind, and other renewable energy solutions, conducting carbon footprint audits (Scope 1-3 emissions) to inform decarbonization roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers on carbon-neutral winery and bottling infrastructure.
Policy Development & Compliance:
  • Monitor and respond to emerging environmental regulations.
  • Contribute to internal environmental audits and compliance reporting.
  • Prepare carbon disclosure reports (e.g., CDP) and align practices with Climate Active certification requirements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Agriscience, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in sustainability or agri-engineering roles.
  • Consulting experience, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
Desirable Skills:
  • Technical proficiency in geospatial analysis (e.g. ArcGIS Pro).
  • Mechanical diagnostics related to wine production and bottling.
  • Closed-loop systems and industrial ecology.
