Job Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled professional to undertake spatial data processing, capture and audit tasks for asset management projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting pertinent spatial data and related information from client databases and manipulating it using ETL processes to suit project requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in ArcGIS or QGIS suite of software and possess strong spatial data management, analysis and geoprocessing skills. A sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products and working within the Windows operating system is also essential.

A tertiary qualification in GIS or a related spatial discipline, or relevant technical skills and experience, is required. Knowledge or experience in any of the following will be seen as advantageous: FME, Python scripting, field data capture technology, previous work in a consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake spatial data processing, capture and audit tasks for asset management projects.
  • Extract pertinent spatial data and related information from client databases and manipulate using ETL processes to suit project requirements.
  • Adhere to data processing workflows and quality control frameworks, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce high quality cartographic figures.
  • Regular reporting, both formal and informal, to team leader and project manager.
  • Provide general GIS support and technical services across the business, as required.

Requirements:

  • A tertiary qualification in GIS or a related spatial discipline, or relevant technical skills and experience.
  • Experience in ArcGIS or QGIS suite of software.
  • Spatial data management, analysis and geoprocessing experience.
  • A sound understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products and working within the Windows operating system.

  • An understanding of different coordinate systems and projections.
