Senior Technical Lead - Renewable Energy

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Lead to lead the commissioning of various renewable projects, working closely with Transmission Network Service Providers and Distribution Network Service Providers.

Job Description:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field and experience in commissioning renewable projects. They will be responsible for overseeing the full output operation of renewable energy systems, ensuring they meet performance standards and are stable and secure.

  • Lead the commissioning process for renewable energy projects, including technical validation and testing.
  • Collaborate with TNSPs and DNSPs to ensure seamless integration of new energy sources into the National Electricity Market.
  • Develop and implement strategies to strengthen AEMO's technical collaboration with clients.
  • Provide expert advice on system strength remediation, registration, and commissioning.
  • Support regulatory changes to facilitate the integration of large-scale renewable energy projects into the Australian electricity market.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Electrical Engineering or other power systems discipline.
  • Experience in commissioning renewable energy projects, including transmission and distribution projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in R2 compliance and model validation.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience owning and delivering small-medium projects.
  • Proficient in generator commissioning and diagnosing and addressing performance challenges.
