Workshop Controller Position

We seek a skilled and organized Workshop Controller to oversee day-to-day operations of our busy workshop.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have experience in automotive and be proficient in managing repair orders, time, and labour requirements. They will also possess excellent communication skills and work productively unsupervised.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enhance the workshop control system.
  • Manage time and labour requirements for each job.
  • Create and process repair orders efficiently.
  • Liaise with sales to order parts and accessories.
  • Field enquiries and provide quotes for work.
  • Ensure workshop efficiency meets satisfactory levels.
  • Allocate work to technicians and direct workflow.
  • Prioritize workload for maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage vehicle flow into and out of the workshop.
  • Liaise with management regarding capacity and capability.
  • Organize and control sublet repairs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical issues and product changes.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and WH&S compliant working environment.
  • Secure vehicle keys and lock and alarm the building at the end of each day.
Requirements:
  • Trade qualifications in an automotive/mechanical field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional delegation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work productively unsupervised.
  • Highly motivated with a strong commitment to our operational standards.
  • Current valid Qld driver's licence.
