Are you an experienced automotive professional with a passion for efficiency and customer service? Opposite Lock Toowoomba is seeking a highly motivated and organised Workshop Controller to coordinate the day-to-day operations of our busy workshop.

About the Role:

As the Workshop Controller, you will be responsible for ensuring a smooth and profitable workflow within the workshop. This includes planning, monitoring, and controlling all repair orders from creation to invoicing. You will be a key liaison between the workshop, sales department, and our valued customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance the Workshop control system.
  • Understand and manage time and labour requirements for each job.
  • Create and process repair orders efficiently.
  • Order parts and accessories, liaising closely with the Sales department.
  • Field enquiries and provide quotes for work.
  • Ensure workshop efficiency meets satisfactory levels.
  • Allocate work to technicians and direct workflow.
  • Prioritise workload for maximum efficiency and profitability.
  • Manage vehicle flow into and out of the workshop.
  • Liaise with the Manager and Salespersons regarding capacity and capability.
  • Organise, issue purchase orders for, and control sublet repairs.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mechanical issues and product changes.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and WH&S compliant working environment.
  • Ensure vehicle keys are secured and the building is locked and alarmed at the end of each day.
  • Trade qualifications in an automotive/mechanical field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional delegation and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly developed planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work productively unsupervised.
  • Highly motivated with a strong commitment to Opposite Lock's goals and operational standards.
  • Current valid Qld driver's licence.
