Product Design Director

Key Responsibilities- Develop in-depth domain knowledge across platform products and link the dots to see the big picture.
- Lead strategic design projects that shape key customer experiences, working hands-on and owning end-to-end user experience designs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user needs and develop innovative design solutions.
- Navigate ambiguity, exploring conceptual, JTBD, and competitive landscapes to achieve product market fit.
- Lead a team of product designers, providing mentorship, setting clear career paths, and coaching designers regularly.
- Oversee user experience designs across desktop, mobile web, and app, steering designs through product requirements.
- Provide actionable feedback to team members, helping them navigate stakeholders and projects.
- Establish and evolve the design system and guidelines for high-quality, consistent support across products.
- Build a robust design team and culture by mentoring designers and promoting user-centered design thinking.
- 8+ years of experience as a UX/Product designer, including 4+ years in a leadership role managing designers.
- Experience working in a fast-paced tech start-up environment.
- Strong product logic and first-principle thinking.
- Ability to explore and thrive in ambiguous project contexts.
- Solid track record of project management and delivery.
- Outcome-oriented.
- Financial industry experience is a plus, but intellectual curiosity is essential.
- Experience working in complex systems with multi-disciplinary, multi-threaded user journeys.
- A track record of recruiting and hiring a world-class design team.
- Strong portfolio showcasing project experience with both UI and UX design for responsive web platforms.
- Expertise with design tools like Figma and visual design sensibility.
- Expertise with growing Design Systems with complicated, cross-domain components.
- Analytical and user-focused, able to understand complex problems and turn them into simple solutions.
- Master communicator who can articulate design rationale and sell ideas to stakeholders.
- Passion for mentorship and helping designers achieve their full potential.
- Degree in Design, HCI, or related field or equivalent battle-tested experience.
