About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Development Manager to join our Above Water Systems (AWS) team in Australia. In this role, you will be responsible for driving growth, business development, and sales of Thales maritime products and services in Australia within new and existing markets.

You will understand customers' missions, operational environments, and priorities, broaden customers' understanding of Thales solutions in connection with their mission to promote Thales products and services addressing customers' objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Leading and securing capture opportunities through prospecting, qualifying, managing, and closing sales opportunities in new and existing accounts.
  • Acquiring and sharing market intelligence and understanding competitor trends and changed market conditions.
  • Identifying and developing potential strategic alliances and partnerships for the Thales portfolio.
  • Managing reporting of sales opportunities and governance processes.
  • Working within a highly matrixed organization to contribute to sales strategy and planning to meet future market needs.
  • Stewardship of reference-able clients, facilitating reference contacts, tracking of references used.
  • Supporting the business in its market presence as a thought leader through all available forums and institutes.
  • Supporting the development of communications and marketing plans as required to support the business's strategic goals.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will have proven experience in a senior sales or business development role within the maritime industry. You will have an in-depth understanding of large-scale programs and deals, as well as maritime market dynamics, including key players, trends, and challenges.

You will possess excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to influence, motivate, and guide teams in large Matrix-style organizations. Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities are also essential. Additionally, flexibility to travel and eligibility to obtain a Defence Clearance are requirements for this position.
