Project Manager - Strategic Leadership

Australia's submarine company is seeking a Project Manager to lead and manage project teams, delivering strategic objectives in complex environments. The successful candidate will have a strong governance framework and process development capabilities, with experience working in centralised services business models.

About the Role:

  • Establish and lead project teams to deliver strategic objectives
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Develop project management governance frameworks
  • Identify and mitigate project risks
  • Support and develop project management talent
  • Coordinate with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with defence and safety standards
  • Report on project progress to senior leadership
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation

Requirements:

  • Minimum 10 years' experience in complex project environments
  • Proven leadership in setting up project teams, managing project managers, and coordinators
  • Strong governance and process development capabilities
  • Understanding and experience working in centralised services business models
  • Skilled in managing diverse projects (e.g., supply chain, workforce, technology, infrastructure)
  • Proficient in project management tools (e.g., Primavera P6, Jira, Cobra)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Autonomous, goal-directed, and capable of managing multiple priorities
  • Tertiary qualifications in a technical or project management discipline
