Job Overview

This is a senior position within Arup's Planning and Design team. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in strategic planning, project delivery, and client relationships.

The Opportunity

As a Senior Strategic Planner, you will be responsible for providing strategic inputs to planning and design projects locally and interstate. This includes developing innovative approval mechanisms, strategic planning for growth, and integration of infrastructure needs across various planning contexts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing strategic inputs to planning and design projects
  • Managing project delivery and working directly with clients
  • Supporting and authoring reports, submissions, presentations, proposals and similar documents
  • Interacting with internal and external clients, providing sound advice that meets client needs
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in Planning, along with tertiary qualifications in Planning, Economics, Social Sciences, Engineering or similar disciplines
  • Understanding of statutory and strategic planning across South Australia, with ability to demonstrate what issues matter on the projects delivered
  • Ability to deliver high-quality technical work across policy review, spatial analytics, infrastructure requirements, statutory analysis, and approvals
  • Experience working on projects, with an understanding of scope and timeframes and the commercial realities of program delivery
