The role involves managing a range of projects and programs to deliver high-quality collection control in support of broader collection care and access priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and overseeing staff to undertake registration and collection management activities, including asset management and administration of collection tracking and documentation systems.
- Managing resources and associated procurement.
- Developing policy and procedures.
- Identifying, responding, analysing, and reporting collection management issues.
- Managing storage facilities.
- Providing expertise to support the broader access and development of collection information for internal and external stakeholders.
Tertiary qualifications in Collection Management or a similar field, along with relevant experience in collection management, registration within a gallery, museum, or similar organisation will be well regarded.
Previous experience using a variety of collection and data management systems such as Vernon Collection Management System (CMS) software and Fotoware Digital Asset Management Systems will also be highly regarded.
The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a Baseline Vetting (Protected/Restricted) security clearance.
Requirements:
- Previous experience and proficiency in the operation of Vernon CMS or other collection management systems and location tracking systems.
- Tertiary qualifications in Collection Management or a similar field, along with relevant experience in collection management, registration within a gallery, museum, or similar organisation will be well regarded.
