Opportunity Summary

A highly motivated professional with specialist registration skills is sought to join the Collection Care & Management team at the National Museum of Australia.

The role involves project management and coordination across the conservation and registration functions, including gallery and collection storage redevelopments, exhibitions, and efficiency projects.

The Collection Care and Management Business Unit is embedded in the team, which requires directly managing a small team and leading diverse project teams for effective delivery of collection services and priority projects.

Responsibilities vary in scope, scale, duration, and complexity and may include coordinating display, installations, deinstallations, logistics, storage improvements, loans, documentation, auditing, and conservation services.

Key skills required include knowledge and experience in collection management principles, contemporary practice, and legislative requirements. A strong customer service focus ensures a positive stakeholder experience through effective communication and conflict resolution.

Selection criteria include well-developed communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills, relevant project management experience, and demonstrated leadership skills and staff management experience.
