Eating Disorder Therapist

About the Role
The successful applicant will work with individuals and their carers to provide clinical therapy, meal support, information, and advice to eating disorders sufferers. This role involves working in a group setting, as well as occasionally on an individual basis. The focus is on providing strategies and addressing issues that help patients develop healthy living practices, reduce disordered eating, and move towards mindful and relaxed eating habits.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct provision of clinical therapy and meals support;
- General information about eating disorders and advice to eating disorder sufferers in a group setting;
- Advise, counsel, and educate patients and carers on an individual or group basis;
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Honours degree (or equivalent) in psychology, counselling, occupational therapy, social work or similar;
- Registration or provisional registration with a professional body;
- Experience working with people, with an eating disorder and/or other mental disorder in a counselling/support/therapeutic role;
- Sound experience managing risk;
- A sound understanding of eating disorders and disordered eating, body image and related issues;
