Job Title: Mental Health Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated researcher to join our team in the field of mental health. The successful candidate will have a strong background in research methods and analysis, with experience in quantitative and qualitative research.

The primary focus of this role is to undertake and lead research projects focusing on eating disorders, including Anorexia Nervosa, Bulimia Nervosa, and Binge Eating Disorder. The successful candidate will be expected to develop and write successful applications for competitive research grants and funding to deliver research and translation programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake and lead quantitative and qualitative research in eating disorders
  • Develop and write successful applications for competitive research grants and/or funding
  • Provide leadership within the research team
  • Supervise postgraduate research students and volunteers
  • Monitor grants and expenditure, governance, and ethics
  • Foster excellence in clinical management of eating disorders
  • Contribute to improved public policy on eating disorders at national and international levels

Requirements:
  • Hold a PhD in relevant area (mental health, eating disorders, or related field)
  • Strong experience in research in eating disorders
  • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative research methods and analysis
  • Demonstrated experience in grant writing and success
  • Demonstrated experience in post-graduate supervision
  • Strong publication track record
  • Demonstrated ability to write for both academic and non-academic audiences

Benefits:
  • Base Salary $122,830 - $145,858 + 17% superannuation
  • Full-time fixed-term position for 12 months
