We are seeking an experienced Design Manager to join our client's team on a high-profile $200m residential project in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing pre-construction design activities across multiple construction projects and collaborating with clients, project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing the pre-construction design process
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to develop and implement design solutions
  • Reviewing project specifications and contracts to identify design requirements and constraints
  • Advising on project design schedules and budgets
  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications, contracts, and applicable regulations
  • Identifying and resolving design-related issues

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in architecture, construction management, or engineering
  • 5+ years of experience in design management in the construction industry
  • Experience working on large-scale industrial construction projects from $30m upwards
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of construction project management tools and software
  • Understanding of construction contracts and regulatory requirements
