Rail Operations Specialist

Your Future Role
We are seeking a skilled Rail Operations Specialist to join our team at the Lilyfield Sydney Light Rail Depot. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance and repair of Rolling Stock and its associated equipment. This will involve working closely with our Operations Manager to develop and implement maintenance plans, as well as participating in a rotating shift roster (4 weeks of Mon - Fri 6am - 2pm, then 4 weeks of Sun - Thurs 2pm - 10pm).
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine examinations, fault finding, interrogation, and diagnostic testing on tram equipment installed on Sydney Light Rail Vehicles (LRV) sub-systems.
- Actively maintain and repair tram equipment installed on LRVs.
- Follow all established safety procedures and utilise safety equipment as required.
- Report on activities, problems found, and measures taken.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders and understand and implement quality control measures.
Requirements and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A team-player with a can-do attitude.
- The ability to participate in the rotating shift roster.
- Demonstrated maintenance experience with the ability to fault find, diagnose, and repair.
- Experience within Rail/Rolling Stock or similar industry preferred, but not essential.
- Certificate III Engineering (Mechanical Trade).
