Cardiovascular Research Engagement Specialist

The Menzies Institute for Medical Research, part of the College of Health and Medicine at the University of Tasmania, is seeking a highly motivated Cardiovascular Research Engagement Specialist. This is a 0.5FTE, 3-year fixed term role based in Hobart.
About the Opportunity:
The Cardiovascular Research Flagship is a priority-driven research agenda focused on reducing cardiovascular risk and improving clinical outcomes. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing research translation and communications efforts.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in creating and implementing effective communications and engagement plans to support the goals of the Cardiovascular Research Flagship.
- Develop high-quality content for various audiences, including press releases, newsletters, social media posts, and website updates.
- Plan, coordinate, and promote events such as webinars, seminars, forums, workshops, and other community-based activities.
- Manage the social media presence for the Cardiovascular Research Flagship, ensuring engaging content and active community interaction.
- Collaborate with the College's Communications Team to ensure consistency in messaging and branding across all communication channels.
- Monitor and report on the effectiveness of communication and engagement strategies, providing valuable insights for improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- A degree with relevant experience in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a communications or marketing position, preferably in a health or science research environment.
- Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear, engaging content.
- Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills across various mediums.
- Proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, using discretion and sound judgment, while contributing to a large team.
- Graphic design or webpage administration skills are highly desirable.
Salary Details:
This role offers a total remuneration package of up to $113,029, comprising a base salary between $89,091 and $96,606 pro rata, plus 17% superannuation.
