Key Role: Environment and Compliance Manager

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Environment and Compliance Manager to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are delivered in accordance with relevant legislation and standards.

Your primary focus will be on overseeing compliance and governance of environmental requirements in our Project Management Framework. This includes providing technical environmental advice, preparing regulatory reports, and managing stakeholder relationships.

You will work closely with project delivery teams and operational sites to ensure that all projects are completed on time and within budget.

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and AGL standards throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical advice on environmental matters, including identifying obligations, reviewing studies, and supporting project execution.
  • Prepare and submit environmental regulatory reports, including Annual Performance Statements and National Pollution Inventory reports.
  • Develop strategies to manage environmental risks and incidents, and oversee internal and external incident reporting.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Environment, Science or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders, team members, and leaders.
  • Proactive and energetic approach to leading and delivering against tasks, with a focus on achieving goals and objectives.
  • Extensive experience working with project teams to deliver projects in accordance with legislation requirements.
  • Strong compliance and risk management, project management, analytical, and conceptual skills.
