Our role is to ensure a sustainable and resilient future for our community.

We're looking for an experienced professional to coordinate environmental risk management and compliance activities across our services, assets, and public land. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of corporate processes to maintain and improve our environmental management systems.

This role sits within our centralised strategy team and provides specialist environmental sustainability and climate resilience support across the organisation.

The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a similar discipline, with experience in managing environmental issues and risks for physical assets or construction sites. Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities are also essential.

About the Role:

  • Coordinate environmental risk management and compliance activities across our services, assets, and public land
  • Lead the implementation of corporate processes to maintain and improve our environmental management systems
  • Provide technical and strategic advice on environmental matters
  • Review documents for construction sites, day-to-day service delivery activities, and contaminated land obligations
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver strong environmental management of our operations

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a similar discipline
  • Experience in managing environmental issues and risks for physical assets or construction sites
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication capabilities
  • Ability to lead projects and implement change
  • Knowledge of environmental legislation and regulations
