About the Role

The role of Environmental Sustainability Specialist involves leading environmental risk management and compliance activities for a municipality's services, assets, and public land.

  • Implement corporate processes to ensure compliance systems and procedures are maintained and fit-for-purpose.
  • Develop and continuously improve an environmental management system.
  • Provide technical and strategic advice on documents related to construction sites, service delivery activities, and contaminated land obligations.

This specialist works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure they have the skills and knowledge to deliver strong environmental management of operations.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will possess degree-level qualifications in Environmental Science or Management, coupled with experience in managing environmental issues and risks for physical assets or construction sites.

You will also possess strong stakeholder engagement and communication capability.
