Project And Data Analyst Job Description

GreenCollar is seeking a seasoned Project and Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be taking the lead on investigating, understanding, and communicating the performance of our environmental regeneration projects.

As a Project and Data Analyst, you will work closely with peers in the Portfolio team to investigate project performance and opportunities, as well as collaborate with project stakeholders - including landholders, pastoralists, regulators, and auditors - to understand, report on, and communicate project performance.

The location for the role will be in Western Australia.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Analyzing project data from multiple sources using appropriate statistical and analytical techniques to evaluate project performance
  • Monitoring ongoing project events, activities, and performance
  • Creating and validating project forecasts
  • Preparing and managing project and portfolio reporting schedules, sequences, and requirements
  • Preparing comprehensive project reports, visualizations, presentations, and responses to communicate performance and guidance to project stakeholders
  • Identifying and communicating opportunities or imperatives to improve project performance and outcomes
  • Responding to and resolving triggered monitoring events
  • Recommending or providing clear guidance on project and portfolio priorities and activities
  • Understanding environmental markets methods and methodologies, with a particular focus on carbon methods (including Avoided Deforestation, Avoided Clearing, Human Induced Regeneration, Native Forest from Managed Regrowth, and others)
  • Understanding each project's adherence to its project method (activities; outcomes)
  • Understanding how data tools process available information
  • Investigating and pursuing opportunities to improve the quality, scalability, efficiency, and standardization of project analysis and reporting
  • Working with Portfolio and Community of Practice peers to improve the integration of core monitoring and analysis activities into project lifecycle management
Required Skills and Qualifications

Key qualifications for this role include:

  • Strong analytical and reasoning skills
  • Ability to think logically, break down complex problems, and devise effective solutions
  • Ability to support and drive decision making in line with a project or portfolio's objective
  • Strong understanding of statistical concepts, modelling, forecasting, hypothesis development, and testing
  • Ability to manage, manipulate, and query data using tools such as SQL
  • Ability to understand and interrogate geospatial information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly articulate findings, recommendations, and data-driven narratives to diverse audiences, including non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple data analysis projects, set realistic timelines, and deliver high-quality work within specified deadlines
  • Meticulous attention to detail when working with data, ensuring accuracy and consistency in analysis and reporting
  • Experience in, or familiarity with, environmental markets - including experience with modeling tools such as FullCAM, RMT, SavBAT - a plus
  • A passion for the natural environment and sustainability a plus
