Emerge Associates, a leading environmental consulting firm, is seeking a talented Senior Environmental Consultant to join their team in Subiaco, WA. As a fulltime position, you will play a key role in providing expertise in contaminated land assessment and management, as well as acid sulfate soils investigation and remediation.

What you'll be doing

Lead and manage contaminated land and groundwater projects

Design, budget, and oversee field work

Deliver clear and accurate technical reports, regulatory documentation, and proposals

Provide technical leadership to junior colleagues/ members of the team

Engage and build lasting relationships with peers, clients, and industry associates

Coordinate and superviser field staff, subcontractors, and laboratories

Ensure compliance with all matters of work

Contribute strategic advice

Support business growth

Conduct peer review and quality assurance checks on technical deliverables

What we're looking for

A tertiary degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiences

Extensive experience in contaminated land (8+ years)

Strong knowledge of contaminant behavior, risk assessment methodologies, and remediation technologies

Proven project management experience, including budgeting, resource coordination, and reporting

Strong communication, technical writing, and data interpretation skills

Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships and stakeholder engagement

Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulatory frameworks, and standards for contaminated land (e.g., ASC NEPM)

Experience mentoring and guiding junior technical staff

A positive and can-do attitude

Experience with asbestos containing material (ACM) i.e., identification and management in a contaminated land management context e.g., ACM in soil

Experience with landfill gas investigation and risk assessment

Experience with Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in a contaminated land management context

Hydrogeology expereince may be highly regarded in some roles
