About the Reinsurance Specialist Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing significant value for schemes through its responsibility for Investments, Reinsurance and Capital Management.

  • Develop and implement effective strategies for annual reinsurance renewals, including process optimisation and engagement with internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Optimise reinsurance assets through claims recoveries, commutations and counterparty risk management.
  • Evaluate business operations and service delivery to develop enhancements and improve stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Contribute to strategic papers and briefs for the Asset and Liability Committee and Board as required.
  • Embed icare values and business line charter within the team.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as finance or insurance.
  • Extensive experience (10 years +) in insurance or reinsurance operations, including key functions like underwriting and claims management.
  • Ability to understand complex insurance concepts and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to drive business improvements.
  • Knowledge of reinsurance products and services that align with the Treasury Managed Fund objectives.
