Located in Adelaide, the University of Adelaide is a prestigious institution offering a range of academic programs.

We are currently seeking an experienced Disability Support Manager to lead our Disability Support team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the operational and strategic leadership of Disability Support, ensuring the provision of comprehensive, responsive, and effective services to all enrolled students at the university.

This role requires a sound knowledge of disability legislation and its relevance to education providers. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in providing successful operational management in a Human Services setting, as well as service coordination and leading a team.

The Disability Support Manager will drive the strategic development and execution of the university's Disability Inclusion Action Plan, ensuring that the university meets its commitments under the Disability Standards for Education Act 2005 and the Disability Discrimination Act 1992.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Demonstrated experience in providing successful operational management in a Human Services setting, in the areas of access, inclusion and wellbeing.
  • A sound knowledge of disability legislation including its specific relevance to education providers.
  • Demonstrated experience in service coordination and leading a team.
  • Demonstrated experience in successfully building teams with a positive future-focused culture, driven by outstanding service outcomes through service innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the wide range and complex needs of students with disabilities within a tertiary education setting now and anticipated in the future and a strong knowledge of disability legislation including its specific relevance to education providers.
  • Knowledge and understanding of professional practice expectations related to record keeping and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and administrative skills and capacity to meet competing and demanding deadlines.
  • Knowledge of disability-based community services and resources.

This position requires a valid Working with Children Check.

The estimated annual salary for this role is $110,291-$123,734, plus an employer contribution of 17% superannuation applies.
