The Director and Chief of Staff, Indigenous Portfolio at the University of Melbourne plays a pivotal role in advancing Indigenous participation and knowledges in education and research. This position provides strategic advice, manages key projects, and oversees stakeholder engagement with Indigenous communities, government, and corporate partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-level and expert advice to senior University officers on Indigenous-related issues
  • Lead and develop a high-performing, culturally aware expert team
  • Shape strategic thinking on Indigenous issues within the University and externally
About the Team

The Indigenous Strategy team, led by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous, develops, monitors, and reports on the University's Indigenous strategy. They implement key Signature Projects under the Murmuk Djerring strategy and support Faculties and Chancellery in advancing their Indigenous strategies.
