Your Role

The Financial Crime Director will play a critical role in our First Line Risk Enablement team, reporting directly to the Head of Financial Crime. Your primary responsibility will be to support Ubank's businesses in understanding and meeting all Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorism Financing (CTF) policies, standards, and processes to manage associated risks and obligations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of AML/CTF policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and monitor the execution of services to support delivery against policy requirements.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to frontline teams to ensure they understand and meet AML/CTF policy requirements.
  • Oversee initiatives to address back-book issues identified and report on these matters to various risk and business committees.
  • Support the completion of regulatory responses and review new policies/standards to determine business impact.

Requirements

  • Business, finance, project, or general management tertiary qualification preferred.
  • Banking and regulatory environment experience.
  • Legal, risk, or compliance background.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership, drive, and accountability.
