Financial Inclusion Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to join our team as a Financial Inclusion Specialist.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting clients navigate financial inclusion processes and access relevant services. You will conduct initial assessments, make referrals to suitable programs, and support data collection systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct thorough initial assessments and refer clients to pertinent financial inclusion programs or community services.
  • Support the development and implementation of effective data collection systems and contribute to analysis and evaluation activities.
  • Produce comprehensive reports and participate in strategic planning and advocacy efforts.
  • Promote services to the wider community, fostering relationships with stakeholders and partners.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Community Services or a related field.
  • Relevant experience in intake processes and a willingness to complete Financial Capability Worker modules (CHCSS00077).
  • Strong understanding of poverty causes and social exclusion, as well as familiarity with local service systems and referral pathways.
  • Substantial experience working with data systems in the community social services sector.
  • Excellent communication skills, resilience, and a solution-focused approach.
  • Able to engage respectfully with individuals experiencing financial hardship, homelessness, or marginalization.
  • Proven ability to manage crisis situations, maintain professional boundaries, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Demonstrated commitment to working respectfully with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, and culturally and linguistically diverse clients, communities, staff, and Aboriginal controlled organizations.

This role requires a strong understanding of Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander culture and the ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.
