Vehicle Maintenance Technician

The role involves the repair and maintenance of bus fleet across multiple locations. Key responsibilities include working on complex control systems, diagnosing faults in electrical and computer-controlled systems, and operating a range of equipment and tools to undertake vehicle maintenance.

For the role, a current trade certificate in auto electrician is required, as well as computer literacy and experience with scan tools. Experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations is highly desirable. The successful candidate will work a rotating roster with shift allowances and may be required to travel between locations.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Work on complex control systems involving combinations of electrical, electronic, mechanical or fluid power principles
  • Diagnose faults in electrical and computer-controlled systems, communications, vehicle monitoring/tracking, CCTV and other similar vehicle equipment
  • Operate a range of equipment and tools in order to undertake vehicle maintenance such as diagnostic computers/tools, multimeters, load testing, lifting and materials handling equipment

Requirements
  • Current trade certificate in auto electrician
  • Computer literacy
  • Experience with scan tools
  • Desirable: experience in bus maintenance and public transport operations
