We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef/Cook to join our team at Freshwater Bay Country House, a retreat for up to 77 guests who stay with us for guided or self-guided walking tour holidays. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in preparing and serving our Traditional British menu, consisting of Breakfast, packed lunches, and a 3-course evening meal served banqueting style.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and cook high-quality meals for our guests, adhering to our menu standards and presentation guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head Chef and Sous Chef to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and menu ideas to enhance our culinary offerings and meet the evolving tastes of our guests.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records of food costs and inventory levels.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring that our guests receive a warm and welcoming dining experience.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a busy kitchen environment, with a strong background in traditional British cuisine.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations, including food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, with a flexible approach to working evenings and weekends.
  • NVQ 3 in professional cooking or equivalent qualification.
