Job Title: Cyber Security Specialist

About the Role

You will be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining security solutions that protect information assets. Your work will support risk management and strategic planning to ensure system and data integrity, confidentiality and availability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement enterprise security strategies aligned with industry frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Essential Eight.
  • Design and maintain procedures and controls to mitigate threats and meet compliance requirements.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Conduct comprehensive security risk assessments for new and existing platforms, recommending improvements.
  • Respond to security incidents (detect, contain, eradicate, recover, post-incident review).
  • Develop knowledge base articles, playbooks and security documentation to support team members.
  • Provide input on security requirements for vendor contracts and proposals.

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in IT or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, CEH or Microsoft Security Suite.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a cyber security role.
  • Proven track record of designing, implementing and reviewing enterprise security solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks including ISO 27001, Essential Eight and ASD ISM.
  • Skilled in assessing and managing cyber risks within complex environments.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, NDR, EDR, XDR or Microsoft suite.
  • Ability to stay up-to-date with emerging threats and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments and third-party audits.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to deliver security awareness training.
