About the Position (for those up for the challenge)
The Events and Operations Manager role involves responsibility for all operational and administrative tasks, including membership management and communications. You will lead the planning and execution of events such as educational seminars, industry conferences, and awards ceremonies.

Key Responsibilities:
Event Management:
- Plan events with attention to detail, covering venue, catering, budgets, promotion, collateral, and scheduling;
- Oversee nomination processes, judging, VIP invitations, ticket sales, and related tasks for awards ceremonies;
- Deliver high-quality events ensuring an exceptional guest experience;
- Liaise with media agencies for maximum event coverage.
Operations, Administration, and Communications:
- Manage membership databases and member interactions;
- Maintain the accuracy and relevancy of the website for members;
- Prepare and distribute external communications to members and stakeholders;
- Monitor and manage social media channels;
- Ensure efficient and well-organized offices, accurate records management, and stakeholder engagement;
- Respond promptly to phone and email enquiries.
Additional Projects:
Depending on workflow demands, this position may involve various projects and tasks supporting the sport sector's development.
Key Relationships:
This role involves internal and external communication with staff, members, and stakeholders, including State Sporting Organisations, Office of Sport, Regional Academies of Sport, and other industry bodies.
Reporting:
The position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and oversees volunteer management at events.
Selection Criteria:
Candidates applying for this role must demonstrate relevant experience across key responsibilities. Essential skills include:
• A can-do attitude
• General office administration and customer service experience
• Strong verbal and written communication, presentation skills
• Proven Microsoft Office suite experience (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) and Canva or Revolutionise Sport use is beneficial
• Event and program administration experience
• Teamwork and stakeholder engagement experience
• Autonomous work capability and managing multiple projects with competing deadlines
Desirable skills:
• Knowledge of the NSW and Australian sports sector structure and stakeholders' roles
• Website management experience
• Report preparation and external communication experience
• Budgeting and financial management experience
• Membership-based organisation, sporting organisation, or professional association experience
• Relevant tertiary qualifications in business management, marketing, communications, or sports administration
