Job Summary:

The role of an Events and Operations Manager is crucial in driving the development, celebration, and advocacy for the sport sector.

  • To succeed in this position, you will be responsible for planning and executing various events, including educational seminars, industry conferences, and awards ceremonies.
  • Additionally, you will oversee day-to-day operational and administrative tasks, such as membership management and communication.
  • Effective collaboration with media agencies and stakeholders is also essential to ensure maximum coverage of our events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Event Management:
    • Plan and execute all events to deliver a superior guest experience.
    • Oversee all tasks associated with awards ceremonies, including nomination processes, judging, VIP invitations, and ticket sales.
  • Operations, Administration, and Communications:
    • Manage the Sport NSW membership database and member liaison.
    • Ensure the accuracy and relevance of the Sport NSW website.
    • Create and distribute external communications to members and stakeholders.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • A can-do attitude
  • General office administration and customer service experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven Microsoft Office suite experience (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)

Desirable Qualifications:

  • A knowledge of the NSW and Australian sports sector structure and various stakeholders' roles in sport
  • Website management and administration experience
  • Report preparation and external communication experience
