Telecommunication Site Installation Specialist

About Our Role

We are seeking a skilled Telecommunication Rigger and Technician to join our team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Installing, testing, and maintaining telecommunications vendor equipment.
• Installing, commissioning, and troubleshooting microwave radio equipment.
• Climbing and working at heights safely.
• Fault finding comprehension and resolution.
• Ability to work with cranes and EWPs.
• Upgrading and modifying existing wireless telecommunications sites.
• Test and commission all relevant equipment, including RF call testing.

Responsibilities (Rigger)

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Install and maintain WCDMA/LTE/4G/5G/NBN technologies.
• Install radio base stations, terminating Hybriflex Cables and Coaxial feeder cables/tails, earthing, cable trays, diplexers, combiners.
• Upgrade or install DC power rack systems including rectifiers, batteries, and load testing.
• Software installation, testing, and commissioning of sites.
• Installation, testing, and commissioning of wireless network equipment.
• Order and procure the required equipment, materials, and tools required for site installation.
• Read and interpret plans, drawings, technical, and design documents, method of procedures, and other installation guides for effective project delivery.
• Work well alongside the riggers and other team members to ensure that works are completed to the highest standards.
• Able to locate faults in telecommunication equipment.
• Complete HOP documents.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• 2-5 years Rigging experience within the Telecommunication industry.
• Telstra, Vodafone, Optus 3G/4G/5G experience highly regarded.
• Current Rigging/Dogging/EWP Tickets.
• Twin Rope Access certification highly desired.
• Current Working at Heights / Tower Rescue Ticket.
• Construction White Card.
• Police clearance.
• RF / EME Awareness.
• First Aid and CPR Certificate.
• Work at Heights Certificate - Must.
• Australian Drivers Licence - C Class.

Requirements (Telecommunication Technician)

The ideal candidate will have:

• Minimum of 2 years of relevant industry experience.
• Previous experience as a Telco Field Technician, with expertise in TPG/Optus/Telstra 5G and NBN Fixed Wireless systems.
• Strong knowledge of telecommunications networks, equipment, and cabling.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
• Diploma in Telecommunications Engineering or a similar field.
• Ability to understand and implement RAN, RF, and Transmission designs.

Compensation Package

The compensation package includes:

• $40.00 - $50.00 per hour.
• 38 hours per week.
• Salary packaging options available.
