Key Responsibilities

  • To support student learning in a flexible and adaptive manner when their regular teacher is unavailable or the school requires additional staff assistance.
  • To maintain a productive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic growth and recognizes individual needs.
  • To collaborate with colleagues and adhere to the Archdiocese's policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A thorough understanding of the Australian Curriculum and ability to design effective teaching strategies.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for interacting positively with colleagues, students, and parents.
  • The capacity to work proactively within a professional community while adhering to legal, administrative, and professional requirements.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of classroom practices and organizational skills that foster safe and supportive environments for all students.

Permit to Teach (TQI)

If recommended for approval as a Casual Teacher, CECG will request a Permit to Teach with the Teacher Quality Institute for Pre-service Teachers. This process involves applying for a permit after receiving an employer's recommendation - Pre-service teachers cannot directly apply to TQI.

Application Procedure

  • NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) and/or ACT Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP).
  • NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) accreditation and/or Teaching Quality Institute (TQI) registration.
  • Contact details of three professional referees.
  • Proof of identification - either Current Passport or Birth Certificate and Current Drivers Licence.

  • You must be an Australian Citizen or permanent resident or hold a visa allowing work rights to be eligible to apply for this position.
  • Appointment is subject to satisfactory employment screening for child-related employment in accordance with CECG policy.
