Position Description

We are seeking to appoint a Deputy Head of Junior School – Teaching and Learning to support the Head of Junior School – Deputy Principal in the development, administration and implementation of academic programs in the Junior School. This is a permanent, full-time position that will commence at the beginning of Term 1, 2025.

Main Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be a passionate and inspirational educator who will lead teaching teams in the development of curriculum programs using the NSW curriculum and the IB Primary Years Programme frameworks. This will involve:

  • Developing and implementing academic programs in the Junior School;
  • Liaising with teachers to develop positive relationships and foster collaboration among staff and key stakeholders;
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team to ensure the school's curriculum remains progressive and relevant;
  • Contributing to the development of innovative practices and emerging trends in primary education;
  • Supporting the school's commitment to Positive Education and wellbeing.
Key Qualifications and Skills
  • Comprehensive expertise in K-6 teaching, programming, assessment and evaluation of outcomes;
  • A strong understanding of current innovative practices and emerging trends in primary education;
  • The ability to develop positive relationships and foster collaboration among teachers and key stakeholders;
  • A commitment to Positive Education and wellbeing;
  • A genuine desire to work in a committed and professional team within the Christian ethos of the school;
  • Qualification in Education and registration with NESA;
  • Proven leadership skills in curriculum development, innovation and management;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
