Job Title:
Work Health and Safety Manager
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure legislative compliance and best practice.
- Identify and manage health and safety risks through regular inspections, audits, and ongoing review of the risk register.
- Ensure adherence to relevant legislation, including hazardous materials management, asbestos control, and psychosocial risk mitigation.
- Lead incident investigations, oversee timely reporting, and drive corrective actions to minimize business impact.
- Oversee health and safety planning and risk assessments for major events, including emergency response support.
- Coordinate staff inductions, training, and ongoing safety education to foster a strong safety culture.
- Chair health and safety committee meetings and collaborate on emergency planning and compliance reporting.
- Track key health and safety performance metrics and maintain documentation, audits, and first aid compliance.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of relevant legislation, codes of practice, and industry standards.
- Hands-on experience managing health and safety in high-risk environments.
- Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders and promote a positive safety culture.
