Procurement Expertise in Commercial Contracting

This is a highly specialized role requiring advanced knowledge and skills in procurement and contracting.

  • Prepare and review complex commercial documentation using the ASDEFCON suite to ensure compliance with legislative, policy, and regulatory frameworks as well as Defence quality standards.
  • Provide expert commercial advice on sensitive reports, submissions, and other documents as required.
  • Analyze, identify, and develop strategies to mitigate risks associated with procurement and contracting activities, contract performance, and compliance with legislative and policy frameworks.
  • Apply legal principles, legislative, and policy compliance obligations, commercial risk, and performance requirements related to the Commonwealth Procurement Rules.
  • Coordinate and provide procurement advice, assistance, products, and services to facilitate risk management, ethics, and probity.

Key Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of commercial principles, performance management frameworks, and procurement processes within Defence or the Commonwealth.
  • Experience working in a commercial team in a complex environment to deliver outcomes on time and to a high level of quality.
  • Expertise to support complex procurement activities including the development of solicitation documentation and the review and evaluation of responses to market approaches.
  • Understanding of the Foreign Military Sales process and its benefits, limitations, and constraints.
  • Experience developing contracting correspondence including complex, commercially sensitive reports, submissions, and contract change proposals.
