Job Description

Flying Bark Productions is a renowned independent producer of family-focused animation entertainment.

We are seeking a highly skilled Compositing Supervisor to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the CG Supervisor and Producer in bidding, scheduling, and executing the compositing production schedule. They will assign and delegate work to the team, monitor shot progress, and enhance the look of final 2D animation images or CG renders through compositing techniques.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize Nuke compositing software to perform tasks associated with the compositing process, including layering elements, matte projections, and colour grading.
  • Supervise a team of compositors and evaluate their creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
  • Participate in crew selection for the compositing team.
  • Meet the brief for the program that fulfils the creative standards of the project as advised by the VFX & CG Supervisor/s, Animation Director, and the client.
  • Attend client calls for briefs and notes discussions, tracking client notes and flagging production push-backs and overages.
  • Develop creative solutions to enhance shots without overshadowing the overall story point or animation.
  • Maintain a high level of quality by having a good eye for detail and cross-checking renders are up to standard.
  • Work seamlessly with 2D, 2.5D, and CG shots, understanding limitations in 2D and CG animation pipelines.
  • Be organized and methodical, dealing with large amounts of shots, tracking versions, and render management.
  • Produce final renders and elements for delivery with a neat and well-labelled node network.
