About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated culinary professional to join our team as a Sous Chef in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate food production across all hotel areas to maximize profitability and maintain high culinary standards.
  • Approve all prepared food items before they leave the kitchen, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and ensure safe food handling practices throughout the kitchen.
  • Coordinate with staff to ensure all sections are ready for service and meet standard recipes and production specifications.
  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, driving efficiency and effectiveness.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of culinary practices and procedures, along with excellent leadership and communication skills.

  • Ensure high-quality food products at all times, adhering to established recipes and production specifications.
  • Conduct regular quality checks on daily deliveries of food and non-food items, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of menu offerings, managing kitchen section requirements effectively.
  • Supervise, check, and correct food preparation and rotation requirements to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Anticipate and attend to guests' needs and desires promptly, providing exceptional customer service.
  • Monitor rosters to ensure all sections are properly staffed, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity.
  • Prepare, cook, and serve food as required, delegating tasks to junior chefs when necessary.
  • Liaise with other chefs regarding restaurant and banquet functions, ensuring smooth operation.
  • Collaborate with F&B managers and outlet supervisors to optimize workflow and achieve business objectives.
  • Enforce adherence to standard recipes in all outlets, maintaining consistency and quality.
  • Regularly inspect storage facilities to monitor stock rotation, minimizing waste and optimizing inventory management.
