Lived Experience Project Officer Role

Seeking a motivated and experienced individual to join our Noarlunga Mental Health Inpatient Rehab Unit Project team as a Lived Experience Project Officer - Consumer.

This exciting opportunity allows the successful candidate to make a lasting impact on mental health rehabilitation services by undertaking projects that support and enhance the development, integration, and sustainability of SA Health's Lived Experience Workforce, with a focus on rehabilitation services.

Key responsibilities include contributing to the development of a lived experience workforce framework, developing staff training material relevant to peer work, and advising on the development of the Peer worker role within the MH Rehabilitation stream based on best practice approaches.

Requirements for the role include relevant lived experience of accessing support and treatment from mental health services, ideally having experience working as a Peer Worker in mental health settings, and experience in project coordination or contributing to project and program management.

The ideal candidate will possess a demonstrated commitment to, empathy and appreciation for the lived experiences of mental health consumers and other stakeholders, as well as the ability to relate, empathise with and be aware of the perspectives and diversities of others.
