About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Management Office Lead to join our team at the University of New South Wales. As a key member of our Enterprise Portfolio Management Office, you will play a critical role in supporting the delivery of strategic initiatives across the university.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide project management leadership and expert advice to support the development and establishment of project plans for projects and programs of varying complexity and size.
  • Lead the continuous improvement and development of project management processes and methodologies within the EPMO Centre of Excellence.
  • Manage a team of project management specialists in a matrix structure, applying the EPMO's governance and project execution frameworks for all projects.
  • Proactively communicate with and coach stakeholders in the application of the EPMO Centre of Excellence project management processes and tools.
Requirements
  • Experience in resource planning and allocation in a dynamic, changing, and complex organisation to support project teams in all stages of project implementation.
  • A strong background in program and project governance and substantial demonstrated experience working with and delivering work according to a range of project management methodologies and techniques.
  • A strong understanding of the higher education sector and related systems and processes, and how these intersect in delivering outcomes for UNSW students, staff and partners.
  • Extensive experience in managing and motivating a team, with an ability to work collaboratively to quickly establish and maintain a high level of personal and professional credibility with the wider team and stakeholders.
  • Financial management experience and literacy, experience writing business cases, managing budgets and controlling income and expenditure for a project.
